Adult Faith Formation
We believe that mature, intentional discipleship is a process that occurs gradually through an ever-deepening relationship with Christ and His Church. Faith Formation is the action of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives and our cooperation with it. Shaping who we are, what we do and how we share our faith as Catholics.
Just as we do for our children and youth, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish offers a religious learning opportunity for all ages, to start or continue their own faith journey, with qualified leaders shepherding participants through a variety of classes, studies and groups.
Adult Bible Study
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish periodically offers an adult bible study program for those looking to deepen their faith by reading, reflecting on and discussing the Word of God with others.
In addition to adult bible study opportunities, St. Thomas Aquinas parishioners frequently identify books that explore topics within the Catholic Church or encourage readers to engage with and share their faith.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
The RCIA process was developed as a dynamic process of conversion and faith formation which concludes with full membership in the Body of Christ. The process itself recognizes that people come to us from different places in their faith walk.
The process recognizes and is designed to accommodate people who are not baptized, people who have not developed a relationship with the Christian community. The RCIA program also accommodates those who are baptized as Roman Catholics but have drifted away from the Church and have a desire to reestablish their Baptismal relationship with the Church.
The RCIA team is made up of the parish clergy and trained laity. Those entering into the faith walk are accompanied by parish members willing to be faithful companions walking side by side with those wanting to further develop their relationship with God.
