Hello, my name is Mrs. Dishno, and I am so excited to be teaching 5th-8th Grade ELA at St. Thomas Aquinas this year!  This is my first year at STA, and I cannot wait to get to know all of my students! Here are a few fun facts about me: my favorite color is green, I have 8 nieces and nephews, I love reading, writing, and singing, and I just celebrated my four year wedding anniversary.  I also have a daughter name Naomi Mae who is 14 months old. In 2010, I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a minor in Psychology from Northern Illinois University. I have been teaching since 2010, but in 2012 I went back to get my teaching certificate from Concordia University.  I graduated in 2014 with my teaching certificate from Concordia, and I am certified to teach grades 1-8. In 2017, I finished my Master’s in Education with an Emphasis in Literacy from Concordia University.

This year, I am looking forward to my first year at St. Thomas Aquinas, and I also look forward to growing together with my students.  If I could describe myself in a few words it would be the following: compassionate, patient, organized, collaborative, and caring. Some of my favorite things to eat are sour patch kids, fettuccine alfredo, and chocolate.  I also love drinking black tea. Now that you know a little bit about me, I look forward to getting to know all of you this year! If you have any questions/concerns: you can reach me by email at adishno@saintthomaswaterford.org.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Dishno
